New Year Message from New President

As the newly elected President, first of all, I would like to give new year greetings to all the FAOPS members. Also, I here declare that I will put forth my effort for the Federation, as the successor to Professor Chumpol Pholpramool, in collaboration with all the Council Members.

Physiology is the study of the functions of life and their mechanisms by integrating the processes at all levels between the molecular level to the whole-body level. Thus, Physiology is a most important key discipline among the biological sciences, and that is why the Nobel Prize for life science fields is called “The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine”.

The missions of FAOPS are to foster research activities in the field of physiological sciences in Asia and Oceania, to provide a forum for the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and ideas between physiological scientists in Asia and Oceania, and to encourage and support the advancement of physiological sciences to developing countries and regions in Asia and Oceania. During the administration of this President and Council Members, we would like to strain for the above missions, especially by increasing the number of members, improving the FAOPS website and strengthening the interaction to The International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS). I hope you could collaborate with and help the Council Members to fulfill the missions. Also, I look forward to meeting all the members at the FAOPS 2010 in Taipei.
